Is EVERYONE microdosing?!

Psilocybin (Magic Mushrooms), LSD, and Ayahuasca is gaining popularity. But can it ease anxiety and depression?

The benefits are still being investigated, but a lot of people are taking it into their own hands. Micro-dosing is typically taking a tiny amount 0.1- 0.2g of dried mushrooms, with Golden Teachers being a popular choice

With some countries exploring legalising the use of psilocybin scientists are exploring the use of tiny amounts of some drugs such as magic mushrooms, ketamine and MDMA, the latter particularly with soldiers who suffer extreme PTSD.

We chat to 5 peeps who micro-dose on the reg.

What you microdosin?

Psilocybin (magic mushrooms) and I started mainly because I was struggling with my mental health after suffering a loss and felt really disconnected from myself.

Why? How does it make you feel?

It makes me feel more focused/productive, and my anxiety has decreased a lot since starting it. I’ve been doing it for over a year now and it’s definitely something I will be sticking with moving forward.

Would not recommend.......

Would not recommend double dosing because you’re not having the best day, then take another double dose a go to a family meal.

What you microdosin?

Mushrooms, LSD, San Pedro and Ayahuasca. I started microdosing a few years ago after hearing about all the hype; as a shaman it made sense to me to explore all avenues of the medicine experience! But I guess it's also 'cause I'm all for ways to enhance, improve or add any 'hacks'/value to my life: any help out of a dark spot is always helpful when needed too.

Why? How does it make you feel?

Doing regular things for me while microdosing (even at the smallest dose) is never really a thing! You can find me in the woods with my drum connecting to the medicine.

Would not recommend.......

Would not recommend microdosing if you're in deep crisis, it might seem like a good idea, but it's probably just gonna bring up even more stuff, even if you don't realise.

What you microdosin?

I love supporting others to find their authentic essence. I love dancing, singing and creating for the sake of immersing myself in the beauty of life! I’ve regularly micro dosed psilocybin mushrooms.

Why? How does it make you feel?

I started because I wanted to see what the benefits were for my emotional health and creative expression. I feel fairly normal, but my creativity fully switches on and my emotions flow easily. My body often spontaneously releases stuck energy and I feel much clearer, aligned and connected to myself. The creativity that opens up leaves me feeling like a deeper part of myself has been awakened.

Would not recommend.......

I would not recommend micro-dosing around others for the first time, spend the day in your own company and get immersed in your inner world! There are so many gifts in the silence and the stillness.

What you microdosin?


I have been micro dosing for over 2years - I started because I was verging on being depressed and very anti using pharmaceuticals to lift my mood. I used to take mushrooms and acid recreationally all the time back in my party days but when I revisited these psychoactive medicines I did so with a lot of respect and apprehension. 


Why? How does it make you feel?


I’m so much more relaxed, calm and happy with psilocybin support . I can only say this journey has been life changing - I don’t drink alcohol or coffee, I don’t smoke, I  only eat organic plant based whole foods and I sit in ceremony often. 

Would not recommend.......

I recommend experimenting with ceremonial doses alongside micro doses if you really want to dig deep and explore your self. It almost like they don’t want us to connect with our beautiful conscious minds.

What you microdosin?

Golden Teachers, for about a year or so. Started because I read it in a business tools book tbh, the guy said it helped him concentrate and focus his creativity, so I spoke to a guy on a certain instant messenger app and he gave me tips of what to do.

Why? How does it make you feel?

Lockdown! It makes me feel calmer and i’d say like 6-7% happier. I’ve gotten some of my best work done over the past year when i’ve had some for sure. I can get a bit low if I don’t exercise or have purpose so it felt like the right time to try something new.

Would not recommend.......

Treating yourself to more because it’s Friday. Put too much in a smoothie and then had to film a vlogcast later that day, One hell of a Friday though.
